FAQs
How do I start on a custom order?
Either send me a message on here (checkout the ‘contact’ link at the top of the page), or DM me on instagram. I will respond as promptly as possible.
Where do you get your leather?
I source almost all of my leather via a wholesale distributor based in Sandy, Utah (Rocky Mountain Leather Supply). They offer a wide range of products from tanneries all over the world. I pretty much exclusively use leather from the Badalassi Carlo Tannery in Tuscany, Italy. Their top grade, full grain vachetta leathers are vegetable tanned using traditional methods and the results are hard to compete with. When it comes to materials, quality is of the utmost importance to me.
Do you ever use faux/vegan leather?
Never! The hides of the animals I use (mainly cow, sometimes alligator) are simply a byproduct of the meat industry, which would exist with or without leathercraft. Many hides get thrown out because there just isn’t the demand for them and they ultimately become waste, which is such a shame because it’s one of the most useful, durable, and lost-lasting materials that one could possibly use. By utilizing these hides I am perserving the legacy of these animals. They’re forever memorialized in timeless pieces of art. Any faux leather or leather alternative simply doesn’t compare (not to mention the petrochemicals involved in producing faux leather and the subsequent ecological implications of their use).
